Gah! I just knew I was going to adore this book after how much I enjoyed It Happened One Summer but goodness, I was certainly not disappointed! I loooooove Fox and all the little things he does plus I’m a sucker for a broken man in need of a bit of healing。 And I could not get enough of Hannah flourishing! The plot, the backdrop, the music references, the tension…it was just perfect! And the epilogue—I had tears!!! Where can I find me a Brendan or a Fox??? Hooked, Lined, and throughly Sunk by ho Gah! HE BOUGHT A FREAKING RECORD PLAYER AND RECORDS BECAUSE SHE LOVES THEM LIKE??? towards the end i’m so happy he found the person that allowed him to open up and care😭i 100% recommend this book especially if you enjoyed it happened one summer (we got some piper and brendan moments too!) tessa bailey never fails to deliver! 。。。more
Jordyn | Thesleepybookshelf,
I like this book so much more than It Happened One Summer。 Hannah was a likable character throughout the story and was so much more grounded than Piper。 There was so insanely cringey dialogue and the romance was sweet and believable。 It was a great slow burn with a satisfying ending。 Of course the epilogue was peak rom com goals。 Plus, the character development of Fox was great! Really enjoyed this book and highly recommend even if you did not enjoy the first book!
Kairavi,
4。5⭐️ this book gives the best warm & fuzzy vibes🥺
Gabi,
This book has no right to be so great! (the duology actually tbh)It's only the beginning of March and I'm pretty confident this is a top 10 book for the year。I loved Fox and Hannah。 They're dynamic was brilliant, as well as they're development (both together and separately)。 I also really appreciated how Fox's story line was handled。 I think it was done really well。 And now I really want to give him a hug!
Sophia Stewart,
This was phenomenal! Listen I really loved it happened one summer and I loved this even more。 These two were hilarious and sexy! I love them so much, their dynamic was hilarious and so sweet I could cry。 Fox’s story was really beautiful and Hannah helping him along the way was just AH! This lived up to every expectation (and more) and I literally wanted to reread it as soon as I finished it!
Amy,
This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I loved every second of this。 I felt so bad that Fox had this awful opinion of himself and let everyone think the worst of him, but I loved that Hannah wouldn’t stand for it。 She saw through his deflecting and challenged him on it, and made sure he knew that she saw the real him and she knew he was worth her time and love。It was also so nice to finally have a romcom where the problems don’t result in someone flying halfway across the country, they had fights as any couple would but they actually I loved every second of this。 I felt so bad that Fox had this awful opinion of himself and let everyone think the worst of him, but I loved that Hannah wouldn’t stand for it。 She saw through his deflecting and challenged him on it, and made sure he knew that she saw the real him and she knew he was worth her time and love。It was also so nice to finally have a romcom where the problems don’t result in someone flying halfway across the country, they had fights as any couple would but they actually stuck around and talked through their issues。A really heart warming read I really enjoyed it, I just wish I could listen to those sea shanty recordings! 。。。more

I repeat, the way Fox and Hannah just get eachother? Soulmates。 No one can tell me they’re not soulmates, I’ll refuse to believe it。4。5 ☆[full rtc] I’m so going to make a playlist on Spotify when I reread this and I cannot WAIT

This book does a great job highlighting the sexualization of men。 Main character Fox heard from a young age “Look at him…he’s going to be a heartbreaker” between that and a poor example he had as a father that really had an effect on him and navigating relationships。 The other positives for me were the character growth for both Fox and Hannah。 However, that growth mostly was separate。 It honestly took until about 70% in the book for them to “hook up” then they were pushing each other away until the end。 😡🙄 Maybe the ‘Friends to Lovers’ trope isn’t for me。I loved, loved, loved Hannah’s love for music, records and playlists。 It was so quirky, sweet, and cute。 Music is such a great form of expression。 I’m glad she found voice at work and became “the lead character” she knew she could be。Rating: Overall I think I would give this a ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫。 It has some steam, but not too much。 Honestly, it didn’t feel too romantic, but more of both of them with an inner monologue of excuses。 😬 It was great to back in Westport, but I was hoping for more of Piper, Brendan, Opal, and the Del Rey crew。 I think this probably a me situation as this book has a very high good reads rating…Give it a try! 。。。more

Lauren,
This book was everything I love about romance。 It’s sweet, emotional and the build up between Hannah and Fox is so steamy。 Even the first kiss scene is hot。Fox is trying to get past years of being told his success with women is his worth。 He’s struggling to realize he can be more than he believes, but Hannah is there to help him。 She has her own problems, to include needing to stand up for what she wants and needs。I loved the small fishing town vibes mixed with Hollywood, the emotional connectio This book was everything I love about romance。 It’s sweet, emotional and the build up between Hannah and Fox is so steamy。 Even the first kiss scene is hot。Fox is trying to get past years of being told his success with women is his worth。 He’s struggling to realize he can be more than he believes, but Hannah is there to help him。 She has her own problems, to include needing to stand up for what she wants and needs。I loved the small fishing town vibes mixed with Hollywood, the emotional connection between Hannah and Fox and the musical moments that really added to the feelings。 Both books in this series are amazing。 。。。more

i am so blown away by this book。 i feel like there aren’t words to properly articulate how i feel about it。 it was perfect。 exactly the story i wanted for Hannah and Fox。 big feelings and amazing chemistry。 as always with Bailey’s books, the spice is 10/10。 but truly what got me was them as characters。 the way they support, encourage, and love each other is absolutely breathtaking。 i’m just obsessed。 and as a music lover, i loved how big of a part music and especially records played into their r i am so blown away by this book。 i feel like there aren’t words to properly articulate how i feel about it。 it was perfect。 exactly the story i wanted for Hannah and Fox。 big feelings and amazing chemistry。 as always with Bailey’s books, the spice is 10/10。 but truly what got me was them as characters。 the way they support, encourage, and love each other is absolutely breathtaking。 i’m just obsessed。 and as a music lover, i loved how big of a part music and especially records played into their relationship。 anyway i’ll just be over here curled in a ball crying 。。。more

Emily,
Hook, Line, and Sinker had all the charm I have come to expect from a Tessa Bailey novel。 Fox and Hannah had great chemistry and banter and were really interesting characters outside of their relationship。 However, they were just missing that incredible tension that Brendan and Piper had in It Happened One Summer and was also slightly slower-paced。 All in all, though, a very entertaining read!
